Contemporary Artist Project 《Lee Wan – I Write》
July 17, 2026 - September 27, 2026Overview
The exhibition 《Lee Wan – I Write》, produced by the Seoul Arts Center, offers a fresh interpretation of traditional Korean calligraphy through the language of contemporary art. Artist Lee Wan explores new possibilities in calligraphy by combining text, images, painting, and seal engraving with brush and ink. Going beyond the appreciation of beautiful writing, the exhibition asks, “Why do we write?” and demonstrates how writing can become an art form for self-expression. It offers an opportunity to experience the new possibilities of calligraphy where tradition meets the contemporary.
